Welcome to the second newsletter for my upcoming book “Developer on the Stage” that will guide software developers to their first successful talk.
In the last newsletter (which you can read here), I informed you about the main roadblock of not having a cover design. I also wrote about the other things I’m working on to get the book out. Good news: A lot has happened since! Here’s the status quo.
Cover
After having put much energy in the cover designs, things suddenly went south. From one day to the other, my designer quit. That caused a setback not only for my book but also for other projects I’m working on. To be honest, this threw me off quite a bit. Sometimes things turn for the worst before getting better. Luckily, this was the case here. A good friend of mine came to the rescue and produced these wonderful cover and back cover:
What do you think? Aren’t they just beautiful?
Website
With these designs, a lot of important decisions are fix. The overall design is simplistic. The main colors are set, as are the fonts. This enabled the next two steps: Creating a draft of the book on Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and continue to work on the website. Both of these aspects are in an early stage of development, so there is not much to see yet. However, I expect the website to be finished soon. Stay tuned!
